COTTON - AN OVERVIEW

The arrival of the Industrial Revolution in Britain provided a terrific boost to cotton manufacture, as textiles emerged as Britain's main export. In 1738, Lewis Paul and John Wyatt, of Birmingham, England, patented the roller spinning machine, and also the flyer-and-bobbin process for drawing cotton to a far more even thickness applying two sets o
